Mettlach Large German Beer Stein
Excellent large stein great blue nad white (clay) german stein, possibly mettlach about 13 tall x 5.25 diameter at base x 2 5/8 diameter at top stein its self in great condition, the lid has minor damage (view photos) powered by ebay turbo listerthe free listing tool. On sep-23-08 at 102228 pdt, seller added the following informationi have been getting harassed by the stein community that i have misrepresented this items. I have posted the comments for everyone to see, but i guess that is not enough to satisfy these people with nothing better to do.
They said it si a r. Hanke ni the early 1880's. I do not know this for sure, but i guess they do. Boy i wish i ahd the time to hassle ebay sellers who made no guarantees (which in my discription i said it is possibly mettlach) and gave everyone the pictures to make the determination for themselves.
I guess i am suppose to be an expert on everything including these steins. I have even gone as far as to warn the high biddres that they may not know what they are bidding on, and would be glad to cancel their bid, but they don't seem to care-just the unique group of 5 people out there that have been harrasing me. So there you have it-do not bid on this if you think it si metlach__it is not it is r. Hanke (which i do not make any garanettes on that either) just one of the experts seems to think so.
