Designed in jugendstil (art nouveau) manner with inscription serving as a design element. The front decoration is made in etched techniquethe one that made mettlach so famous. The lid is pewter with highly decorative relief and a figure of nuernberg goosemana popular symbol of nuernbergfor the thumblift. F the lid is engraved with the pwner's namejgnatz jankorosky. Marked with merkelbach and wick manufacturer's mrak on the bottom. There is a short hairline on the sideyuo can see it on my side picture. The thumblitf is repaired at the feet.
