I am selling it for a neihgbor who has provided several things from his grandfather that i am selling this week. The stein is 12 inches high and is 1 liter. This is a rare, hand-painted gem. There are no chip, cracks, or blemishes other than a very tiny mark no the pewter lid(see last image). It has a very beautiful design and the handle is quite unique. The hinged lid works fine and the d&b stamping is on the inside. Also inside the lid is hte soldier's(frank bigler) id number. It is on several of the items i am listing this week. The reaidng near the bottom reads allen menschen recht getan ist eine kunst die niemand kann i translated this through a translation website and it brought up an art the anybody is not quite done to all humans can. I am guessing this is similar to the saying, life imitates art. I found this same original stein but in different colors for sale at steincenter. Com fro $525.00.
